Accretive AI emerges from stealth with breakthrough Amazon research tools
Accretive AI emerges from stealth, bringing to the Amazon product research market several new breakthrough AI-powered tools and techniques. This post details our new take on Amazon niches, and how our approach allows users to work niche-first, instead of niche-last.
This is a huge time saver.
The niche-first realization
What is niche-first research, and how did we arrive at this approach? Niche-first product research and tools simply means that when you’re working on finding new Amazon products, you start by looking at the product niche’s characteristics first. Is the niche overly saturated with too many similar products? Is the niche’s competition or listing quality level so high that it might be difficult to profitably launch a new product? Does the niche have enough overall sales to make it worthwhile? Are there many good keywords for the niche’s products?
Questions like those are some of the things our users naturally ask when evaluating potential products, because the success of the product is going to be significantly based on what the surrounding niche is like. We see also in the training materials and guides that you can find on the internet regarding Amazon product research that carefully figuring out and validating the niche is one of the most key steps most people agree on.
So why do traditional product research tools and methods tell the user to only validate the niche towards the end of the research process, after spending time first searching for an individual product? When we examined these older tools, we discovered this time-wasting problem is due to lack of the necessary technology. We realized we could do better, by incorporating AI.
Improving on old research tech
Older product research tools and training methods have you first use search tools that return individual Amazon products or keywords, and then you must manually work backwards from there to figure out the niche and its characteristics. In most of these tools, you have to manually search on Amazon in your browser, try to figure out the niche of your possible product, manually check the competition and saturation level, and perform additional manual validation stages before your product idea may turn out to be viable. If any of these niche-level factors turn out to be negative, then you may have wasted hours of your time manually validating the product only for it to fail.
We believe this approach is inherently backwards, however we understand that without AI how could it be otherwise? There must be some intelligence that can successfully figure out subjective nuances such as which Amazon products are in which niche, whether a niche is “saturated”, etc. Until the invention of AI techniques, the only way to do this was with the human mind. Now we have invented an alternative, and it can save you massive amounts of research time.
How AI unlocks new research tech
Once we identified the problem of the old research tools causing users to waste valuable time working backwards, we had to brainstorm if there were any ways to fix it. In 2022 we saw the emergence of AI large language models (LLMs) and other AI technology reach a level where it started to become truly useful, so we began experimenting and testing out ideas. After a lot of hard work, we discovered ways to accomplish multiple new product research technologies via AI:
Group products into niches
Assign niche-level scores to the grouped products
Score the buying intent level for keywords
Discover keywords by actual meaning search
Plus more AI-based features we’re building
AI is a rapidly improving area of technology, and we are extremely excited about bringing even more new Amazon research tools and ideas to Accretive in the future. We’re already developing more timesaving and decision-improving tools, and look forward to continuing to help our users improve their research capabilities!
Traditional tools still have a place
We realize a lot of users have ways they’ve learned to research, and we do support traditional research methods. These tools are also needed for drilling down to the individual product research level once a niche idea has first been validated. We have these fully featured research tools available:
Product search tool: including ability to filter by niche. This tool has all the traditional research filters for finding individual products on Amazon. Search for products by: category/subcategory, title keywords, price, best sellers rank (BSR), fulfillment type, number of reviews, number of images, number of sellers, brand name, sales, etc. You can find products exactly the same way you can with other tools, with the added advantage of being able to restrict the search to a particular niche.
Keyword search tools: including the ability to filter by niche. We actually have two separate keyword search tools:
The first is a mostly traditional keyword search tool, allowing filtering by search volume, competitor data, title density, word count, keyword phrase, monthly sales, competing products, etc. In addition to those, this tool has our AI-generated buying intent score that lets you filter your search by how much buying intention the AI thinks the keyword indicates.
The second keyword tool is for discovering related keywords to a given keyword or niche. This tool uses AI to understand the actual meaning of the input keyword or niche, and from that find closely related additional keywords. This helps find keywords you may have missed, particularly if they have different spellings or phrase words you hadn’t considered previously.
We plan to continue adding in more traditional product research tools, with our own AI spin added on where it makes sense to do so. Let us know what tools and features you want to see!
This is just the beginning
We’re excited about launching Accretive, and we can’t wait to see users create amazing new products with it! Our goal is to continue to innovate and add even more tools going forward, and to to provide market-leading capabilities to our customers. Do you have an idea for a feature, or a way you can imagine saving even more time on your research? Let us know, we want to hear from our users as much as possible.
Keep searching and growing,
